Vodafone Germany’s Orb Trial

  • Comments Comments (View)

This is an interesting development…“Vodafone MeinPC uses Orb’s software to allow 3G customers to access the photos and MP3s that reside on their home PCs. More interestingly, it will also permit subscribers to watch TV that’s being captured on their own PC, and transmitted across the cellular network.”
People using their cellphones to hook up with their Orb/Slingbox/whatever has raised a lot of ire with the carriers, both because it chews up a lot of bandwidth and because it would probably eat into their mobile video and TV offerings… So people will be watching this German trial with interest.
