Veepers Creepers!

Lucent Technologies has signed up Pulse Entertainment to provide its Veepers technology for Lucent’s Video Greeting application, which will in turn be onsold to as part of the “Market Advantage Program (MAP)”. I spoke with Jeff Lipton, SVP of product development at Pulse earlier, and he said that carriers were excited because the product drives data revenue and additional content revenue, as well as make people more familiar with MMS and therefore perhaps use it more…
One thing I found interesting: “We are in discussion with several games companies where users can personalise their avatar and move that to their mobile,” said Lipton. “It’s a natural extension but it’s a little further down the road”.
I also asked him about integrating Pulse’s avatar technology with other avatar technologies and he said the company isn’t philosophically opposed to it, but is doing well enough that it isn’t an issue that needs to be addressed at the moment.
