UK Mobile Internet Use Increasing

The Mobile Data Association has said that mobile phone users in the UK accessed the internet on their handsets around 15.9 million times in December 2006, reports the BBC. That’s a jump of over one million sessions from November, but other analysts warn that could be due to a seasonal spike. Over the last quarter mobile users accessed the web 45.6 million times. It should be noted that the report uses data from O2, Orange, T-Mobile and Vodafone… 3UK has a good data plan and it would be reasonable to think its subscribers used the mobile internet more than other people. Usage should increase this year, with Informa Telecoms and Media predicting that by the end of 2007 a quarter of the mobile phone subscriptions in the world will include web browsing.
