T-Mobile Offers Free WiFi To Mobile Users

T-Mobile USA has announced free WiFi access to it’s customers at T-Mobile hotspots on weekends…according to the website T-Mobile customers can go to one of the companies HotSpots, visit http://freeweekends.hotspot.t-mobile.com and enter their phone number, and they’ll receive an SMS with a passcode for free surfing. The offer is for a limited time but no end date has been announced, which makes it seem like an experiment. Rather than driving WiFi it’s likely that T-Mobile wants to see how mobile phone users would use a WiFi connection if their phone could connect. Will people jump straight onto Skype? Will they specifically bypass data charges and avoid T-Mobile’s portal? Hopefully T-Mobile will see a business case for offering increased connectivity…(via Textually)
