Jitterbug, the senior-focused MVNO, run by the company GreatCall, has received about $36.6 million in funding, reports PEHub. The round was led by Charles River Ventures, Nauta Partners and Steelpoint Capital Partners. The Del Mar, CA-based company provides mobile phones and services for seniors, simplified for their use. The menu system on the two Samsung-manufactured handsets have been replaced by a series of questions with a yes or no response and as much of the service as possible has been removed from the handset and put on the web, to be modified by the uses, or a son or daughter could set it up for their parents. Other features: Pushing a button will bring calling assistance quickly…an operator could place a call for the user.
