Not that launching a mobile site is a big deal, but this is among the first dedicated studio mobile portals…earlier these studios were pushing individual movies and their mobile products…is there a need for a studio mobile portal? Not really, but here you go: Visitors to the mobile movie site from Paramount will be able to browse and purchase movie-related content from their mobile phones, and opt-in to receive alerts about Paramount Pictures.

Variety: “The plan is to aggregate our content in the Paramount Mobile site and have individual micro-sites for each movie that we can market across all our vehicles,” said Sandi Isaacs, senior VP for interactive and mobile. Going forward, Paramount will put up mobile content for all its pics, and it also plans to make available mobile content for recently released and library titles.
