MTV And Amp’d To Team On Content Production

MTV Networks and Amp’d Mobile will announce a partnership to develop made-for-mobile episodic series, with the series appearing both on MTV and Amp’d Live, according to the Hollywood Reporter. This isn’t the first overlap between MTV and Amp’d (with the former being an investor in the latter). Last month there was the announcement that MTV would run Amp’d's Lil’ Bush series, and another deal such as “Sucks Less With Kevin Smith,” in which the feature filmmaker teaches UCLA’s first-ever mobile media production class to produce the series. The big difference seems to be that instead of saying “that’s cool, can we have it” the two companies are working together to create the content.
