Movistar Argentina (a subsidiary of Spanish giant Telefónica) has partnered with UK company Mobile Streams to offer a full-track download service to the telcos customers… or a “a Symbian and Java, cross-platform, full-track, global mobile streaming radio solution” according to the press release. Movistar is licensing the service from Mobile Streams, and will charge AR$4.99 (US$1.60) per track. The service offers music lots of genres (Rock, Salsa, Tango, Jazz, House, Hip Hop, Disco, Chill Out, Pop, Reggae, 80s, Blues) from various labels, but I was told that the major labels will be added shortly. Mobile Streams also plans to launch the service with other network partners throughout the region by the end of 2006.

In other Mobile Streams news, it’s launching the Australian mobile social networking site FunkySexyCool in Germany, Switzerland and Austria. The basis of this service is that users can vote each other funky, sexy or cool…votes are free, but “super votes” can be purchased that count for a lot more, which is one of the main revenue models of FSC.
