PixSense, a mobile photo and video startup, has received $5.4 million in first round of funding, from ATA Ventures and Innovacom. The Santa Clara, CA-based PixSense, formed in March 2005, develops mobile software that allows people to keep media galleries of photos and videos that can be sent via their phones to a personal site at PixSense or other phones. Users can sign up for the service for free at the site and install the mobile app to get started. The company says it is working with two carriers for the use of its phone application.
