Mobile Imaging Firm Cognima Raises $12 Million Funding

Cognima, the UK-based mobile imaging company, has closed a $12M funding round. The round was led by Crescendo Ventures. All of Cognima’s current investors, Atlas Venture, TLcom Capital Partners and TTP Ventures, also participated.  Cognima enables camera-phone users to upload their photos and video clips into online albums from where they can be shared and printed. Its main product is Cognima Snap, which it licenses to mobile network operators, phone handset manufacturers, online photo portals, printer manufacturers and photo finishers. The company was founded by Simon East, previously VP of Technology, Symbian, in 2001.
