Linux-Based Mobile Software Firm Trolltech Files For IPO

As expected, Trolltech, the world’s biggest producer of Linux software for mobile devices, has filed for an IPO on the Norwegian market, on the Oslo Stock Exchange. Trolltech makes embedded Linux software for cell phones, set-top boxes and other platforms to customers including Motorola, Adobe Systems, Google’s Google Earth map service and eBay’s Skype.
Its software allows developers to create applications for mobile phones that run across Microsoft Windows, Apple Macintosh OS X and the Linux or Unix operating systems.
