Industry Moves: Zingy Appoints New CEO
Zingy, the NYC-based mobile content aggregator, which has gone through some major turmoil over the last year, has finally appointed a new CEO, William Mills. Prior to this, Mills served as VP of corporate development at DoubleClick. Before that, he was a director in the Investment Banking Media Group at Salomon Smith Barney.
Mills has reorganized the company around its two main function: “downloadable mobile applications and personalization content”.
Some other hires: Kevin King will become the GM for the mobile applications and services unit, focusing on publishing downloadable products including Vindigo City Guide and MapQuest Mobile. King has been part of the Zingy team since its merger with Vindigo in 2005. Scott Debson has been appointed the GM for the personalization content unit.
Zingy recently hired Scott Jensen, VP head of global business development from HandsOn Mobile.
