EA Mobile Marketshare Declines, Glu Takes Second Spot

EA Mobile’s share of the US mobile games market has decreased by more than 5%...“During the three months ending October 2006, EA’s share of new paid downloads stood at 26.5 per cent—down from 32.2 per cent in the previous period.” Although EA Mobile probably isn’t very happy about this, when I spoke to the company last year they did expect to lose some market share, while growing their overall market.
M:Metrics also states that Glu Mobile has secured the second biggest share of the US market, running past Gameloft (which brings to mind the debate they had over who was number 2). These were followed by Namco and Hands-On Mobile.
It’s also noting that the Walt Disney Internet Group has hit the top ten for the first time.
