Deal Drives On-Location Content Delivery Via Bluetooth

The industry has been talking about schemes that would beam relevant content to passersby for quite some time, but the advance of D2V content-selling schemes, and the interest of brands and media companies to grab a piece of the action, may just push this a significant step forward. That’s part of the reasoning behind the tie-up between Qwikker, a provider of user-driven, on-location mobile content distribution; and Prime Point Media, a provider of payphone kiosk advertising. The agreement centers on the delivery of multimedia content to mobile phones and wireless devices via Bluetooth from payphone kiosks across 2500 locations in the U.S. In addition to the delivery of single media files and content items, Qwikker allows brands to deliver mobile channels, interactive information, video clips, mp3s, pictures, ring tones, games, and clickable links.
