BlackBerry Maker RIM Faces Another Patent Dispute

BlackBerry-maker Research In Motion, which settled a $612.5 million patent infringement suit from NTP in March, is faced with another patent dispute. This time it’s Visto Corp, a small mobile email company, which has charged RIM with infringement of four separate patents. Visto’s action comes after it won last Friday a favorable judgement in a long-running patent lawsuit with Seven Networks. Visto founder and the inventor of its patented technology Daniel Méndez said, “Our patents apply to the general system that is involved in delivering the data to the device and synchronizing that data with the source of the information behind the firewall, or wherever it might be.”
Bogosian said that Visto is seeking a court intervention to prevent RIM from conducting any further business in the U.S. [Via IT Business]
