Voicemail service YouMail has raised $4.5 million in first round funding from VantagePoint Venture Partners—the deal also saw Craig Cooper, venture partner at VantagePoint, join the YouMail Board of Directors. The funds will be used in further product development and marketing, as well as expanding YouMail’s management and development teams. YouMail lets people customize their voicemail service to have personalized greetings based on caller ID, and if they don’t want to record a greeting they can use a library of user-generated recordings.
