It seems like a Yahoo (NSDQ: YHOO) employee was too eager to jump on the Anti-Apple (NSDQ: AAPL) bandwagon, and now the company is scrambling to repair relations with the iPhone-maker.

In a post titled “And so we wait…on Apple,” Yahoo’s Sarah Bacon wrote on the Yahoo Messenger blog that Yahoo has been waiting two weeks for Apple to approve an update to the Yahoo Messenger app. She wrote: Apple has a “somewhat unpredictable process for getting apps approved and released.” But after CNet reported the story, Yahoo said it yanked the post and is planning to retract the statements. A spokesperson told us that Bacon did not have all the information—it’s true that they submitted a version of Yahoo Messenger two weeks ago, but then last week, Yahoo decided to make additional corrections (which resets the approval process time). “The newly submitted app, which should be approved soon, has only been before Apple for less than a week, which is well within the approval process timeframe.” And, just to make sure there’s no sour grapes, Yahoo adds that they have “been pleased with the approval process and Apple’s responsiveness.”
