Will Amp’d Close Down Its Service Monday?

Unless there are other last minute shenanigans and getting debtor-in-possession financing, one might expect Amp’d Mobile to close its service by Monday…that’s just my hunch, and not based on reporting, for once. What else can you do with only $9,000 in cash by coming Monday? I know the company’s also been trying to sell its assets, besides getting it out of bankruptcy, but doesn’t seems like any of that is coming through. Stay tuned…

I don't know which department Kristina works for at Amp'd, but Amp'd never told any of its employees to go home and never come back today. That's complete bullshit. I know this because I actually work for them. Ever since this bankruptcy process began people were leaving early from Amp'd all the time, so it's pretty absurd to make some comment like that. Obviously the outcome doesn't look good, but what do you expect?

It's Official:  AMP'D IS DEAD!  Amp'd told its employees today to go home and never come back.  Any of you with existing Amp'd service, if you want to keep your current phone numbers, had better port your service to Verizon or another carrier before Amp'd gets booted from Verizon's network.  It is my understanding that you can transfer Verizon's service onto your existing Amp'd phones, so you won't have to purchase a new phone (or sign up for a 2-year service contract).
