Warner Music International (WMI) has signed a deal with Brazilian soccer team Corinthians to develop and distribute music and entertainment content to the team’s fans via mobile and online.

From September 15, the label will distribute a range of Corinthians-branded offerings via mobile carriers, its own WAP site and a desktop web portal, including ringtones, wallpapers, videos and mobile games. The Sao Paulo-based club’s anthem will be recorded in various music styles to be downloaded or bought as a CD.

Sergio Affonso, president of Warner Music Brazil: “There are many opportunities to monetize the Corinthians’ brand and bring it to new levels of prominence through our marketing and distribution networks.” Though the team is the second-most popular in Brazil, it still has 24 million fans.
