Warner Brothers has struck a deal with Korea’s second largest carrier KTF to distribute the Hollywood studio’s movies to mobile TV in Korea, reports Variety. The service called Warner Bros. Digital Distribution rolled out Wednesday with 150 recent movies and TV series. The news follows just weeks after Warner said it was shutting down its home video business unit in Korea which has seen revenues drop as the country’s DVD market continues to decline. Films cost 2,000 Korean won ($1.40), and TV shows are priced at $0.70 per episode. Movies include Speed Racer, The Bucket List” and 10,000 B.C.. TV series on offer include Friends, ER and West Wing. In January, Sony (NYSE: SNE) Pictures Entertainment and number one carrier SK Telecom (NYSE: SKM) struck similar deal, in which Sony Pictures Television International would supply up to 60 old and new movie titles a year for mobile handsets. Films were priced from 1,000 to 2,000 won per title (US$0.70-$1.40).
