Vodafone in Talks For iPhone Launches; Deal Hinges On Subsidies
Vodafone is in talks with Apple to launch iPhone in Europe, and talks partly hinge on volume guarantees and subsidies, reports Reuters, quoting from a Dutch magazine. Apple demanded a guaranteed sales volume for the iPhone, which the British mobile operator did not want to give, the story says. It also said Orange had also been in the running, but that Apple had a preference for Vodafone.
Meanwhile, Credit Suisse analysts are also speculating the same thing.
