The big new in the electronic games space is the announcement of a merger between Vivendi (EPA: VIV) Games and Activision (NSDQ: ATVI)—PaidContent has the details. Activision doesn’t have a particularly large mobile games division (it signed up Infospace Games to develop some of its console games for mobile, then Infospace sold that division to Twistbox) but Vivendi Games Mobile is a reasonably major player. Vivendi Games Mobile will now come under Activision Publishing, along with Sierra Entertainment and Sierra Online, and come under the rule of Mike Griffith. It’s unclear what impact this will have, if any, on Vivendi Games Mobile.
