I was watching through the Congress hearing last week on “Wireless Innovation and Consumer Protection”, and saw Jason Devitt speak…he was the founder of Vindigo, one of the early pioneers in mobile content/services sector which got bought by Zingy a few years ago, and then merged into Zingy in 2005. Devitt left in August 2005, and joined iHatch Ventures as EIR…now the venture firm haas funded his new startup SkyDeck, though he’s keeping a lid on what the company does. The company hints at the product: “We are developing software and services at the intersection of mobile phones, telephony, and the web…”

Devitt has also been blogging a storm about opening up the telecom operators and allowing users to choose their handsets and services without being locked into an operator.
