VeriSign (NSDQ: VRSN) said yesterday it had agreed to sell its mobile messaging services to Syniverse for $175 million, but according to a document filed with the SEC, we are finding out today that VeriSign has not finished selling off all of its mobile properties. Still remaining is the company’s m-Qube business, which it acquired for $250 million more than three years ago.

A VeriSign spokeswoman told mocoNews: Syniverse Technologies has agreed to acquire four of VeriSign’s operator solutions, including “Inter-Carrier Gateway, PictureMail, Premium Messaging Gateway and Mobile Enterprise Solutions.” However, the agreement “does not include the VeriSign premium aggregation business, formerly mQube, referred to as Mobile Delivery Gateway (MDG).”

VeriSign is actively looking for a buyer for the business and wants to finish the sale of its “non-core businesses” by year-end, the spokeswoman added.
