imageAfter seeing success with artists, such as Pussycat Dolls, Soulja Boy Tell Em and All American Rejects, Universal Music Group said it is designating Kyte as the mobile video platform for its artists and labels worldwide, and will work with the San Francisco-based company to develop new applications to engage with fans on the go. Universal said that artists are using Kyte to create live-streaming broadcasts from music video shoots, the tour bus or while recording a song. They say the raw footage gets more interaction from fans, who go to the artist’s Web site and use features on Kyte, like chatting and rating shows. Presumably, the videos present marketing and advertising opportunities to increase revenues. Rio Caraeff, EVP of UMG’s eLabs: “We are delighted to be working with Kyte, whose innovative media platform is providing a dynamic new way to create, distribute and monetize branded video content.” Release.
