Going Home, Drugs And Prostitution Or Redemption: Sprint Viewers To Decide Outcome Of Telemundo Show

Viewers of Telemundo’s soap opera, “Sin Senos No Hay Paraiso” (“Without Breasts There is No Paradise) who are also Sprint (NYSE: S) subscribers, will be the first to help decide the fate of lead character Catalina in an attempt to “get the audience more engaged,” Telemundo digital media and emerging business exec Peter Blacker tells AdAge.com. The campaign is no small effort for the NBC Universal-owned Spanish TV channel. Telemunco had to rebuild sets and recall actors to shoot fresh scenes to create the three to five minute videos depicting the three different outcomes. Sprint subscribers will get the first crack at voting next week for four days. The three videos will then go online at telemundo.com, where internet viewers will have a week to watch and vote on the storyline. Once voting closes, the broadcaster will have a week to further develop and shoot the episodes based on ending that won the most votes. Blacker told AdAge that mobile devices gave Telemundo a way to let audiences interact with the story line while having a [marketer] partner be the bridge.
