Stats: Internet Usage On Phones Jumps
A PewResearchCenter survey on the mobile habits of Americans shows a jump in the percentage of people who access the internet on their mobile phones. That percentage (38) is now greater than the number who play games (34). All “non-voice data applications”—from video recording to music playing—are up.
The PewResearchCenter surmises that, since cell phone ownership overall is stable, “users are taking advantage of a much wider range of their phones’ capabilities.” Of course, ownership of phones with additional capabilities (ie smartphones) is also way up, which has to be a big factor.
