Sprint To Run Video From NFL Network; Includes Some Live Game Action
A couple of days after Verizon (NYSE: VZ) announced its deal with the NHL Sprint (NYSE: S) has announced it will start broadcasting live coverage of the NFL on its handsets. Sprint and the NFL signed a sponsorship deal in 2005, the new stuff here is some live video of the games. The NFL Network will provide the coverage in the form of a 3-hour show streamed on NFL.com and to Sprint, which will include live game action when a team enters the red zone, during scheduled time slots at the :15 and :45 marks, and at other critical moments in a game. There will also be replays, in-game highlights and analysis and the halftime show. The show will apparently be available both on the NFL Mobile app and the NFL Network Channel on Sprint TV. (release)
