Not sure I would agree that gaming is not severely affected by the economic downfall.  We track the sector and it appears that the economic malaise is impacting peoples disposal income quite dramatically.  The traditional 'bricks & mortar' gaming/betting services are suffering terribly.  The web based vendors are in real trouble as they do not provide the 'experience' that gamblers require, hence, it is easier for gamblers to turn off website usage.  This was confirmed by a recent visit to Vegas where I spoke with a number of owner/managers, the revenue numbers are down across the board.  Europe and Asia are the leading mobile gamblers; however, people still adjust their consumption patterns in times of distress.

  • I know that the betting industry isn't severly effected by the current economic downfall.I know there is a chunk in the industry for everybody.I just hope that Bettymovil doesn't turn up bankrupt as others company do.They can achieve great things.

Interesting bet….pun intended.  That said, this is a very crowded space and carriers have shown an inability to acquire assets at valuations that compensate the investors.  Given the risks….it appears the reward part of the equation is missing.  Hopefully it works in Spain….doubtful it will take off beyond that as every country seems to have a homegrown gaming platform.  Nice that Telefonica is trying the product but trials are a long way from meaningful revenues and exit.
