Single Touch Interactive Buys Soapbox Mobile; Terms Undisclosed

Another buy-up of a mobile marketing/advertising firm, but this time by a mobile vendor rather than an ad agency or Internet portal: Single Touch Interactive has bought Soapbox Mobile for an undisclosed sum. Soapbox Mobile has some very high profile mobile marketing clients such as Procter & Gamble and Guinness, but it has also had some knocks of late, including the demise of one of its big clients, Amp’d Mobile, and the departure of its short-lived CEO, Vladimir Edelman, who joined in October 2006 but left less than a year later to join Interpublic-backed mobile marketing firm Ansible. Single Touch develops mobile content services, including email software and short codes to download content onto handsets.
