ShopText Raises $1 Million For Powering Text-Based Promotions
ShopText, a mobile commerce and promotions company, said today it raised $1 million in funding from Connecticut Innovations, a quasi-public authority. ShopText is in the process of relocating from New York City to South Norwalk, Conn. ShopText’s software platform sends out ads via text message that promote buying products, requesting samples or coupons, or entering contests. ShopText’s customers includes Proctor & Gamble, General Mills, Universal Music and Conde Nast. Maneesh Sagar, CI’s director of investments will serve on ShopText’s board.
