Sendme Mobile Buys Mobile Community Site Mbuzzy

Sendme Mobile, the San Francico-based mobile content and community applications company, has bought Mbuzzy, the SF-based mobile community site, for an undisclosed sum. This adds community to Sendme’s brands such as SendMeMobile.com and SoLow.com.

Sendme was founded in 2006 by Russell Klein, former SVP of corp dev at HandsOn Mobile, and has venture funding from True Ventures, Spark Capital and Amicus. The company said Mbuzzy community has half a million mobile users who have downloaded over 15 million pieces of social media to their mobile phones using the service. Mbuzzy was self funded, and founded in 2003 by CEO Ryan Nobrega.
