Riot Games Secures $7 Million From Benchmark Capital And FirstMark Capital

Riot Games, a two-year-old independent games developer and publisher, has received $7 million in a round of funding from Benchmark Capital and FirstMark Capital. The company also brought on two new members to its board – Mitch Lasky, partner at Benchmark and longtime gaming executive, and Rick Heitzmann, partner at FirstMark. Riot is led by its 26-year-old CEO Brandon Beck and 27-year-old president and CMO Marc Merrill. The publisher plans to release its first title later this year.
