Ringtone Aggregators Branch Out To Survive

Not necessarily a new insight, but mobile content aggregators have been going through an identity crisis for at least the last two years, and this Billboard story says companies like 9Squared, Dwango, Faith West (now Moderati), YourMobile (now InfoSpace), Zingy and others have spent the past 18 months scrambling for new ways to survive as the industry moved towards true-tones and full song downloads.
And how are they doing it? “Through the creative leveraging of their technology assets and music industry contacts, these companies are developing new mobile services and applications in an attempt to remain relevant”. Wordy. Rest of the story you know already…
