  • I think the iPhone is going to continue to dominate the mobile web for years to come. No other phone has the number of applications to compete.

  • I swear Apple is like a cult<a href='http://www.deargo.cn/girls-bedding-make-your-princess-dream-come-true/' title='girls bedding make your princess dream come true'>girls bedding make your princess dream come true</a>

… Just listening to these comments makes me sick. I’m hooked, addicted etc. They are sooooo trendy. All these Apple fanboys and girls are going to be shocked in a few years when Linux will be king!.

    Excuse me 'Alexx',

but if you did your homework, you'd realize that even 15 to 20 years ago, Apple fans were called a cult. The thing is, not only are we still here, we're much bigger and much better. I just can't understand why people will knock down a great product simply because they dislike the company. Do you mean to tell us that if Linux did the iPhone, you wouldn't be singing its praises? Be for real!

You sure about those numbers, MocoNews? Did you actually read the report?

    > The 50% number refers to the Apple device's share of ad requests from smartphones.  Smartphones as a group make up 33% of total U.S. ad requests so the iPhone's true share of US mobile web traffic is about 17%.  Actually it's somewhat less than that as Ad Mob's iPhone numbers include requests from iPhone applications as well as browsing.

I don't go out and show my iphone to girls at the bar, I'm too old and run a business at home.

The Iphone has made everything easy, from finding contacts, voice notes, checking mail, browsing news, stocks, and listening to music.

It's not a trendy thing, it's just a lot of easy to use features in a clean phone with a big screen. I needed a phone that was easy and powerful.

And for Linux, My question is….why do I NEED Linux on my phone? Any OS that can handle a great UI and IO is all that's needed.

  • Nice article indeed !

  • Yes, it's kind of a problem when Admob sells iPhone specifically targeted ads, I wonder though if they discount these ads from their metrics.  I'm guessing they're doing some sort of compensation for their platform targeting because I'm seeing similar metrics on all the sites I'm reporting on at Connected Social Media and other networks.

I think that the iPhone's txting interface makes txting more like IMing and therefore more enjoyable overall. Thus leading to a net increase in txting on iPhones.

  • Nice article !

  • iPhones should probably the cash cows for Apple. The Macs are not yet challenging PCs and apple is still growing. All these points to a handsome market share for iPhones in the mobile market.

You should dig a little deeper, the numbers from admob count the iPhone and iTouch iPod as an iPhone. Don't know about you but I don't consider the iPod Touch a mobile phone.

  • AdMoco News?

tsk, tsk… is AdMob a data company?  Are these numbers truly representative? Are they even the biggest ad network ? To report self-serving "findings" of activity on ONE ad network as fact is a little generous. Dan Frommer at SAI does a better job putting these numbers in their proper context. http://www.businessinsider.com/admobs-iphone-ad-business-exploding-2009-3

AdMob has a great business, but leave the data to Nielsen and Comscore.

I was always the person who has to have the newest and best phone on the market I have had the htc dash, blackberry pearl, G1, and now I am a proud iphone owner. The only thing I have to say is that I LOVE MY IPONE! Nothing even remotely compares and I will probably be a lifelong iphone fan! I even converted my boyfriend from his g1. Addiction is an understatement!

  • I knew it was only a matter of time before the iPhone was at the top.  There really is no better mobile surfing experience.  My Windows Mobile smartphones were just awful and unusable on the internet, but the iPhone handles it beautifully.
