Qualcomm’s Mike Yuen’s Future Of Mobile Gaming
Mike Yuen, the Senior Director of Qualcomm’s Gaming Group, has a pretty interesting take on the future (or at least, one good future) of mobile gaming…one of the few people who talks about more than the coming two or three years. He has been talking about the idea of the mobile as a portable computer that will connect with peripherals to make a games console for a while, but if you aren’t familiar with his argument its worth looking at, and he’s done an editorial for Modojo which sums it up.

Tx I had not seen this and just read it. Very kewl. The one thing that Mike doesn’t talk about is alternate controlelrs or input devices. And the use of mobile phone/as projector /remote etc. I just wrote about Zodiac.tv (not a client) who is doing some amazing stuff and I do have clients in immersive/3d no glasses/gloves so I know next gen game tech does not need to be expensive. COG (cost of goods can be $15 or even lower). And that will work with GEC—good enuf console Mike talks about. But shout out to Mike for bringing up next-gen and the future. Too many execs are afraid to stick neck out there! Joyce Schwarz
