Qualcomm Acquires Xiam Technologies For $32 Million
Qualcomm (NSDQ: QCOM) has acquired Irish mobile software developer Xiam Technologies for $32 million. The chip maker plans to bundle the four year old company’s flagship product into its software toolkit for operators, as well as continuing to sell it as a standalone product. Xiam’s My Personal Offer System (MPOS) enables operators to profile consumers in order to give them more personalized recommendations of content and advertising. Qualcomm estimates the acquisition will be neutral to 2008 earnings per share (release).
