Presidential Debates On Mobile TV: Plenty Of Choices

imageWe have tonight’s presidential debate up on the flat-screen HD set in the living room but I’m trying to watch for a while on Verizon (NYSE: VZ) Mobile TV. Not hard finding a channel: it’s running now on CNBC, MSNBC, CBS (NYSE: CBS), NBC. Alternatives include Comedy Central, live college football on ESPN (NYSE: DIS), Hannity & Colmes on Fox. This kind of word-centric event actually comes across well on the very small screen, As long as the antenna is up, the images are crisp, the text is legible, and, in a way, with headphones in, it’s easier to concentrate. It’s a legit substitute for the big screen. The biggest gaps from the big-set experience? DVR, rewind and forward.

I’m using a review LG (SEO: 066570) Voyager in Titanium, by the way; the only real minus so far is the 2.5mm headset jack, forcing me to use a tinny pair from another handset manufacturer instead of my Bose or Shurz. Given that this is designed for audio—VCast Music with Rhapsody—and video, including a conversion plug to 3.5mm might make sense.
