Pew Report: 39 Percent Of Americans Motivated By Mobility
Pew has released the results of a survey showing that “39 percent of Americans have positive and improving attitudes about their mobile communication devices, which in turn draws them further into engagement with digital resources – on both wireless and wireline platforms”... Although 7 percent included in this are “Ambivalent Networkers,” who like to use mobile to connect to social networks, but aren’t thrilled about being connected all the time.
Pew has divided people into 10 categories—the first five have 39 percent of the population and are people who, for one reason or another, are driven by mobility in their information and communication technology (ICT) use. The remaining five categories (61 percent of the population) make up the stationary media majority, including 14 percent of Americans who have neither online access nor mobile phones. The press release has the categories with definitions and population percentages.
