PayPal To Launch Mobile Checkout Service
PayPal is upgrading its mobile payment platform to include the ability to pay through a mobile web browser. The WAP version to send payments has been around for a while, as has the text-to-pay version—this seems to be the ability to buy something via a mobile store, like the buttons on some online stores. The screenshot put up at DeGardener makes the process seem a lot more similar to the online version, and the Mobile Checkout service promises to allow people to buy things on the mobile web in two steps. There are also some screenshots at the bottom of the PayPal mobile web page which look like the same thing. (via GigaOm)
