Google’s Android Market manager Eric Chu has informed Android Market developers via email that paid applications are coming to select countries in about two weeks, reports tgdaily.com. In the email, he wrote: “I would like to confirm that Android Market will support priced applications starting early Q1 2009, as we’d originally stated last fall.” He also announced a new feature, which allows developers to target applications for a specific country, which will be key since paid applications will be rolled out slowly as Google (NSDQ: GOOG) works out the payment solutions in each region. As reported previously, the terms of will remain the same with developers keeping 70 percent, and Google keeping the rest and dolling most if out to the carriers. Google will first go live in mid-January in the U.S. and UK, followed by Germany, Austria, The Netherlands, France, Italy and Spain.
