AT&T (NYSE: T) has refreshed the mobile web experience on its feature phone line-up for the holiday season, promising a full HTML browser and a new platform called att.net that bookmarks favorite web searches and destinations.

The new browser is being supplied by Opera Software (OSL: OPERA), and the new att.net mobile platform was developed in partnership with Seattle-based Motricity. Recently, Motricity’s relationship with AT&T was under scrutiny after reports surfaced in July that Motricity was no longer going to provide back-end infrastructure to AT&T when it releases its upcoming AppCenter. However, Motricity maintained that it will continue to work with AT&T, especially as a technology provider for its browser technology.

In a release, Motricity said its mCore Platform lets AT&T wireless customers customize their experience by setting preferences and creating shortcuts on their homepage. In addition, the service will automatically provide location-based local news and weather; restaurants info and other points of interest; driving directions and traffic information. AT&T said the service will also deliver the latest headlines from popular news, sports and entertainment sites. Opera’s technology compresses full internet pages to be viewed on smaller screens.
