One Week Away: EconMusic At The L.A. Times
If you haven’t purchased your ticket to EconMusic yet, now’s the time.
There’s only one week left until the half-day conference next Thursday, Feb. 5, at the Los Angeles Times Building. Don’t miss this chance to network with top digital music industry executives and to be part of the discussion on trends and challenges in the marketplace.
Both of our panels are chock-full of industry leaders eager to address today’s pressing issues. Here’s a rundown of the panels:
-Our first panel, titled “Digital Music: Forging Ahead With New Business Models” will feature Cory Ondrejka, SVP of Digital Strategy for EMI Music; David Ring, EVP of Universal Music Group’s eLabs; Michael Spiegelman, head of Yahoo (NSDQ: YHOO) Music, and Chris Stephenson, GM of global marketing, entertainment business for Microsoft (NSDQ: MSFT). Ethan Smith, music industry reporter for The Wall Street Journal, will moderate the session.
-The second EconMusic panel, “Mobile Music: New Phones Pave the Way,” will include Jeff Annison, founder and CEO of Underground Labs and former VP of MobiTV Experiences; Daniel Cohen, VP of business development for Dada Entertainment; Tom Conrad, CTO of Pandora; and Jim Hollingsworth, SVP of sales and marketing for Gracenote. Dawn Chmielewski, a staff writer for The Los Angeles Times, will moderate this panel.
The event will also feature Courtney Holt, president of MySpace Music, in a Keynote Q&A with Staci D. Kramer, our co-editor and EVP; an industry overview from our research director, Lauren Rich Fine; and more.
Special thanks to our event partners, hypebot, Billboard, GarysGuide, Traxmusic; Digital Music News; and our parent company, Guardian.
