The New York Times (NYSE: NYT) has announced new mobile services for its Real Estate section, will will be available at m.nytimes.com/re. Readers can receive and send detailed property listings on their mobile devices regardless of where they began to search in the NYT properties: People can search over 350,000 property listings on the mobile site (including rich graphics and click-to-call functions), there is an icon on the traditional web pages to let people send listings to mobile devices, and those reading the print newspaper will be able to send listings to their mobile devices via an SMS code. The NYT seems to be seeking extra revenue with this, with classified advertisers having to sign on for the print-to-mobile feature and the paper seeking separate sponsors for the mobile real estate site.
