Nokia Sells Security Appliance Business To Check Point

Nokia (NYSE: NOK) has agreed to sell its security appliance business, which targets the enterprise, to its long-standing partner Check Point Software Technologies. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. For more than a decade, the two businesses have collaborated on selling enterprise security solutions. The deal is expected to close in the first quarter and is subject to regulatory approvals and customary closing conditions. This is perhaps part of Nokia’s emphasis on providing consumer-services going forward. Recently, Nokia decided to partner with Microsoft (NSDQ: MSFT) to provide email to consumers, rather than developing their own in-house solutions.
