Motorola launches mobile TV, GPS device: Motorola (NYSE: MOT) today introduced Mobile TV DH01n, a portable media player including navigation capabilities 2D or 3D GPS and Tele Atlas map views with voice activation. Users will be able to watch live TV, on-demand video broadcast over DVB-H standard and personal media content on the widescreen LCD display. Release.

LG and Samsung debut Linux-supported phones: LG’s (SEO: 066570) LiMo phone and Samsung’s SGH-i800 launched today, running on free software from the Mobile Linux foundation, resulting in a total of 18 phones from seven vendors using Linux software, reports Reuters. Vodafone (NYSE: VOD), NTT DoCoMo, Huawei and Motorola all run the software, while NEC, Matsushita Electric and Panasonic will use it in four models to be offered by NTT DoCoMo (NYSE: DCM). Google (NSDQ: GOOG) Android is also building its platform on Linux.

FIFA to use Sony Ericsson‘s service delivery platforms: FIFA and Sony (NYSE: SNE) Ericsson (NSDQ: ERIC) have signed a global multimedia deal in which FIFA will use Sony Ericsson’s platform, enabling broadcasters and telecom operators to deliver content on its 2009 and 2010 events via mobile TV. The deal covers basic information-based to advanced mobile TV and video solutions. Release.

RealNetworks,  SK Telecom‘s MelOn deal; partners with Honda: RealNetworks (NSDQ: RNWK) today announced it has extended its contract with SK Telecom (NYSE: SKM) to continue to deliver its MelOn digital music service to the Korean wireless services provider’s subscribers. Using Real’s Rhapsody DNA technology, SKT has introduced “Channel,” a service recommending new music based on users’ selection history. Realnetworks also announced a partnership with Honda to promote the Fit in its award-winning Extreme Running mobile game through showing ads during players’ breaks and featuring billboards for the car in the background.
