Mozilla Launches Pre-Alpha Fennec Browser For Windows Mobile: It Doesn’t Work
Mozilla has released their mobile browser Fennec for Windows Mobile—but it’s in pre-alpha so I wouldn’t recommend it. It’s only available on the HTC Touch Pro at the moment, and is intended for early adopters to look for bugs notes a Mozilla blog. AppScout did a test and found that it just returned a checkerboard pattern rather than the webpage, something that seems to be common. I’m pretty sure Mozilla wouldn’t have released this if it was all it did on their handsets, so I’m guessing they’ll be doing a lot of research to find the bug quickly. Exactly how long it will take before the browser is ready for commercial use is unclear, but they’re working on it.
