We are very pleased to introduce you to our newest hire, Matt Kapko, who joins us today as our Senior Entertainment Reporter for MocoNews, based here in Los Angeles (actually, Long Beach, though his occasional commute to our Santa Monica offices will be enough to give him the honorary Angeleno title). He joins us from RCR Wireless, where he was the mobile entertainment reporter for the trade pub. Besides his primary duties at MocoNews, he will also be contributing digital entertainment related stories for paidContent.

Matt has enjoyed writing since his youth, but didn’t take it seriously until he caught the journalism bug in his early 20s. After playing in punk bands in high school and then venturing into recording studios, Matt came back to his earlier passions and double majored in history and journalism at Humboldt State University. He’s worked as a reporter in small towns and big cities along the California coast for the past seven years, before joining RCR. He’s as much a fan of music as he is an avid traveler – always catching shows and hitting the road with his wife of four years. Matt likes cellphones a bit too much, but likes being at home with his wife and two cats in Long Beach much more.
