This has been known for a while privately, but has now become public through an SEC filing: MobiTV, the heavily-funded mobile video distributor, is still looking for a new CEO four months after, as board member and investor Jarl Mohn is doing duties as interim CEO. Founder Dr. Phillip Alvelda’s stepping down as CEO was announced in May, but a new permanent CEO hasn’t yet been announced. Alvelda remains as the Chairman of the company, while Paul Scanlan, the other co-founder, is the president. A spokesperson for MobiTV said that “we are quite close to selecting Dr. Phillip Alvelda’s official successor. As we suspected, given our continued success and leadership position in mobile, broadband and three screen content delivery solutions, the candidates motivated to fill this high-profile position have been of the highest caliber.”

Meanwhile, Mohn is also Chairman of the Board of CNET Networks, and also an investor in Glam Media, KickApps, and Azureus, among other boards. Privately held MobiTV is old in start-up years—it was founded in 1999—and has already raised $100 million in funding. The company has more than 2 million customers.
