Gemstar has signed a patent-licensing deal which will see its TV Guide technology used for MobiTV’s service reports Multichannel News. Gemstar is keen to become the guide of choice for mobile TV services, and has plans to integrate the various platforms TV/Video is on and integrate them into a common profile for its users. It doesn’t sound like that’s part of this particular deal, but Gemstar will probably want to work towards that.
